Fees
Every live box pays fees on the way in and on the way out.
- Strike taker fee (testnet base tier)
- 0.050%
- strikeabox fee per order
- 0.05%
- Most you ever approve
- 1%
- Move needed to break even, before spread
- ≈ 0.20%
Spread costs come on top. The estimated gain on each box already takes the fees off. The plan shows all three before you confirm, and the result shows what was charged.
Strike's trading fee
Strike charges a fee on every fill:
trading fee = fill price × fill size × fee rateThe rate depends on your fee tier, which Strike sets from your 30-day trading volume: see Strike trading fees. A new account on Strike testnet starts on the base tier, with a taker rate of 0.050% at the time of writing. A live box takes liquidity on both fills, so expect the taker rate twice.
The strikeabox fee
strikeabox is a Strike builder: an app that places orders for its players. Builders may add a fee to their orders, and Strike collects it on each fill.
| Value | |
|---|---|
| Most you approve when you connect | 1% per order. It's the "up to 1%" line in the message you sign. |
| Charged on this app | 0.05% per order |
| Charged when | on the entry fill and again on the exit fill |
| In the plan | in dollars, like Builder fee 0.05%: $0.0472 per order |
Strike enforces the 1% ceiling: it rejects any order with a higher fee. The fee is fixed per box: if it ever changes, boxes already open keep the fee shown in their plan.
Worked example
A $100 live box, with both fills at the taker rate:
| Entry fill | Exit fill | Round trip | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strike taker fee, 0.050% | $0.05 | $0.05 | $0.10 |
| strikeabox fee, 0.05% | $0.05 | $0.05 | $0.10 |
| Total fees | $0.10 | $0.10 | ≈ $0.20 |
So the price has to move about 0.20% your way, plus the spread, before a box breaks even.
Why a target hit can lose
Boxes are small, and the board only reaches a few rows from the price:
| Market | One row |
|---|---|
| BTC-USD | $10 |
| ETH-USD | $0.50 |
| SOL-USD | $0.05 |
| ADA-USD | $0.0001 |
An illustration, with made-up but realistic numbers: BTC-USD at $80,000. You tap a box whose edge is $40 above your entry, a 0.05% move.
| Amount on $100 | |
|---|---|
| Gain if the target fills exactly at the trigger | +$0.05 |
| Fees, entry and exit | −$0.20 |
| Result, before spread and slippage | −$0.15 |
The target hit, and the box still lost money. That's why a box this close to the price shows a negative estimate, and why the plan shows the result at the target after fees and spread. Check it before you confirm.
Funding
Perpetual positions pay or receive funding at Strike's funding times. A live box lasts about a minute at most, so it rarely meets one; a position still open after a failed close keeps paying or receiving until you close it.
Demo has no fees. Its 10% house edge is built into the multipliers.
